Does laughing after surgery hurt???

Just curious cause I heard coughing does....

My mom is staying with me for and after my surgery and we usually laugh a LOT when we're together.

You can't leave everything up to Fate, she has a lot to do...sometimes you must lend her a hand!

I dont' remember it hurting that much to laugh.  If you are going to be laughing alot and it does hurt, use a pillow or folded blanket to put a little pressure on the incisions and that should help.

My pain was getting in / out of the bed or chair and it really would only hurt for about 30 seconds.

Good Luck.

My pain was coughing, getting in and out of the chair and the bed as well.  I dont recall any pain from laughin by the time I got home form the hospital.

They say that laughter is the best medicine...  Laughter is also good for getting deep breaths into your lungs.  Just use a pillow to splint against your incision if it hurts.

I'm staying with my parents for a few days after surgery- there's nothing like mom when you don't feel well, no matter how old you are!
